Who is Eligible?

  • Group Eligibility
    1. In general organisations or groups eligible for donations must operate in the Coromandel-Colville ward. National organisations will be considered for donations to the extent that they provide benefit to the Coromandel-Colville ward. Those organisations that fall slightly outside the boundaries of the ward will also be considered to the extent that they provide benefit to the region.
    2. The Trust will not normally fund individuals.
    3. In general (though not necessarily exclusively) organisations or groups eligible for donations must be:
      1. an incorporated society, or
      2. a registered charitable trust, or
      3. a limited liability company fully owned by one of the above and operating for charitable purposes, or
      4. controlled or co-ordinated by an arm of central or local government, or
      5. controlled by an association of persons under an adopted constitution, and rules,
        AND
      6. produce annually audited Financial Statements and reports,
        AND
      7. be in the Coromandel-Colville ward.
    4. Normally only one application will be accepted from each organisation in any one year. (Exceptions may, however, be made in the case of “out of Round” applications.)
    5. Applicant groups which have previously received donations must have complied to the Trust’s satisfaction with the reporting requirement in Accountability below.
  • Organisation & Project/Programme Eligibility
    1. Ineligible Projects. Generally the Trust will not make donations for:
      1. conference attendance
      2. completed projects
      3. uniforms
      4. venture capital
      5. endowments.
      6. paying or subsidising wages or salaries
    2. By preference donations will be made to:
      1. organisations that provide services to senior citizens,
      2. organisations which offer their services for the benefit or enjoyment of the public, especially senior citizens, and contribute to community well-being,
      3. groups which give their time to helping alleviate social problems,
      4. groups that can show community support for their operation,
      5. groups which have a proven track record in their area of operation but the Trust may support new organisations that have significant potential,
      6. The Trust will have regard to the overall level of community benefit, and not just that of senior citizens, that could be derived from that group or that project.
