Who is Eligible?
- Group Eligibility
- In general organisations or groups eligible for donations must operate in the Coromandel-Colville ward. National organisations will be considered for donations to the extent that they provide benefit to the Coromandel-Colville ward. Those organisations that fall slightly outside the boundaries of the ward will also be considered to the extent that they provide benefit to the region.
- The Trust will not normally fund individuals.
- In general (though not necessarily exclusively) organisations or groups eligible for donations must be:
- an incorporated society, or
- a registered charitable trust, or
- a limited liability company fully owned by one of the above and operating for charitable purposes, or
- controlled or co-ordinated by an arm of central or local government, or
- controlled by an association of persons under an adopted constitution, and rules,
AND
- produce annually audited Financial Statements and reports,
AND
- be in the Coromandel-Colville ward.
- Normally only one application will be accepted from each organisation in any one year. (Exceptions may, however, be made in the case of “out of Round” applications.)
- Applicant groups which have previously received donations must have complied to the Trust’s satisfaction with the reporting requirement in Accountability below.
- Organisation & Project/Programme Eligibility
- Ineligible Projects. Generally the Trust will not make donations for:
- conference attendance
- completed projects
- uniforms
- venture capital
- endowments.
- paying or subsidising wages or salaries
- By preference donations will be made to:
- organisations that provide services to senior citizens,
- organisations which offer their services for the benefit or enjoyment of the public, especially senior citizens, and contribute to community well-being,
- groups which give their time to helping alleviate social problems,
- groups that can show community support for their operation,
- groups which have a proven track record in their area of operation but the Trust may support new organisations that have significant potential,
- The Trust will have regard to the overall level of community benefit, and not just that of senior citizens, that could be derived from that group or that project.
