How to Apply?
Application Procedures
Although the Trust is small, and with very limited resources compared with such entities as Trust Waikato, it is subject to the same rules related to accountability etc. Accordingly, though it wishes to keep access to it as simple as possible and appropriate to the local situation, it must insist on certain requirements being fulfilled if applications are to receive favourable consideration.
A written application is essential. No form is prescribed and a simple letter will suffice, but it must contain the following elements:
- identifying details of the organisation or group and information on how it qualifies in terms of (c) of Group Eligibility above;
- details of the programme, project or cause for which funding is sought, including:
- the total cost expected. (The Trust is unlikely to be able or willing to be the sole funder),
- other sources of funds being approached,
- how it fits the criteria set out in (b) of Organisation & Project/Programme Eligibility above;
- contact details so that the Trust can seek clarification of details and any further information that it needs about the application;
- advice as to how the use of any funds provided is to be accounted for, including willingness to provide written final (or progress) reports within a reasonable time (say 6 months) on their use.
- a copy of the organisation or group’s most recent annual financial statement, if available, will also be helpful to the Trust in considering the application.
